This edition supersedes all previous versions.

The September 2016 edition of ATTMA TSL1 provides updates that were requested by ATTMA & IATS representatives and their members following meetings with the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG).

We have closed many loopholes that caused ambiguity in the industry and we hope this new test standard supports the industry going forward.

There are no technical changes to the ‘Approved Test Method’, only clarifications. Some clarifications made are listed below:

We have amended some of the pre-ambles to reflect the current state of the industry

We have shown the test method in a better format, with a single page checklist that can be utilised, particularly by freshly trained engineers, alongside explanations of each part of the process (this was lacking in the 2010 edition).

What is, and is not, acceptable to temporarily seal (loopholes closed)

We have added an appendix that provides ‘known data’ to ensure the testers that write their own test software can check against correct figures, both positive and negative.

We have amended the reporting section to show that issuing a single page certificate is acceptable if you are a member of a recognised competent persons scheme.

We will be distributing this by email to all ATTMA members and by post to all Building Control Officers and Approved Inspectors, as well as a large PR campaign to promote not only the test standard but the worth of the industry. It would be helpful if you could make your contacts aware of the changes also.

The new document can be found by clicking here: ATTMA TSL1 – September 2016 Edition.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our scheme manager, Barry Cope.

Kind regards

David Pickavance
Chairman of the ATTMA Board of Directors.

Dear Members, The ATTMA Trade Association is delighted to issue the latest version of ATTMA Technical Standard L1, September 2016

[29
30,81
post-361","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-attma","tag-technical-standard
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
