A Message from David Pickavance, Our Chairman
It is with a mixture of gratitude and anticipation that I announce an important leadership transition within the BCTA Group.
Barry Cope, our Group Managing Director, will be leaving us at the end of June, marking the end of a significant chapter in the associations’ journey. Barry has served with distinction, dedication and professionalism, for over 10 years. Under his leadership, we have strengthened our position in the industry, expanded our reach and influence and deepened our commitment to excellence and advocacy on behalf of our members.
On behalf of the Board, our Members, and the wider industry, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Barry for his contribution to us and the industry as a whole and wish him every success in his new venture.
We are also pleased to announce that David McKenna will be taking on the role of General Manager from 1st July.
A Chartered Engineer and Member of CIBSE and with over 40 years experience within the construction industry, he is well known to us, has a solid understanding of our business and certification.
He has owned a UKAS-accredited Airtightness and Acoustic Testing and Product Certification company and has served as a Non-Executive Director of ATTMA and BCTA since 2008. His long-standing involvement with the association, combined with his deep technical expertise and strategic insight, make him ideally placed to lead us through the next phase of growth and development.
David’s appointment marks a new era for the Association, and we are confident that, under his leadership, we will continue to deliver value to our members and uphold the high standards for which we are known.
