This is a mandatory requirement of the SITMA Certification Scheme and must be completed and recorded onto the SITMA Portal annually.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">Speaker Directivity can be checked either by the certified tester, or at a facility that offers this service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-caps: normal; font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 400;\">The method for measuring  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Setup the Sound Level Meter<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Setup the sound level meter on its tripod to the same height as the speaker. <br>\nWhere the speaker cannot be placed in an anechoic chamber, a calculation\nis produced showing the microphone is only measuring direct noise, not\nreflected noise.<br>\nWhere measurements are made at 1.5m, it can be assumed no indirect\nsound is measured where: <br>\n- No reflective surfaces exist within 7m <br>\n- Where reflective surfaces to exist, at least 100mm of dense absorbing\nmaterial is present to reduce reflections<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n    \t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_material_bullets_row elementor-repeater-item-bab135e\">\n class=\"ue-title\">Calibrate the Sound Level Meter<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Calibrate the sound level meter using its calibrator<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n class=\"ue-icon-text\">4<\/span> \t\n\n                \n              <\/div>\n  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Align the Speaker and Microphone<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Align the speaker and microphone such\nthat the speaker's front (on-axis position) is directly facing the microphone.<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n    \t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_material_bullets_row elementor-repeater-item-ccbf8cc\">\n              <div class=\"ue-icon\">\n                                       <span class=\"ue-icon-text\">5<\/span> \t\n\n                \n              <\/div>\n  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Turn on the Speaker<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Using pink noise, turn on the speaker to its normal sound\ninsulation testing volume (usually circa 100dB in frequencies 100Hz to 3150Hz).<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n    \t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_material_bullets_row elementor-repeater-item-8349978\">\n              <div class=\"ue-icon\">\n                                       <span class=\"ue-icon-text\">6<\/span> \t\n\n                \n              <\/div>\n  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Measure On-axis Response<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Measure the on-axis response of the speaker at\nthis position, directly in front of the speaker. Measurements shall be made for a minimum of 6 seconds, ideally 10 seconds. The microphone is static during the measurement.<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n    \t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_material_bullets_row elementor-repeater-item-4cce941\">\n              <div class=\"ue-icon\">\n                                       <span class=\"ue-icon-text\">7<\/span> \t\n\n                \n              <\/div>\n  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Rotate and Repeat<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">Rotate the speaker 30 degrees and repeat the measurement. repeat this process every 30 degrees until all 360 degrees has\nbeen measured (12 measurements in total). <br>\nNote \u2013 if using a hemisphere polyhedron speaker (cabinet loudspeaker), the\nmicrophone itself may need to be moved 30 degrees rather than the\nspeaker.<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n    \t\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"uc_material_bullets_row elementor-repeater-item-79e7af2\">\n              <div class=\"ue-icon\">\n                                       <span class=\"ue-icon-text\">8<\/span> \t\n\n                \n              <\/div>\n  <div class=\"uc_content_box uc_ceal\">\n    <div class=\"ue-title\">Hemisphere Polyhedron Speakers<\/div>\n    \n    \t\n    \n    <div class=\"ue-text\">This procedure must be completed in 2\nplanes for hemisphere polyhedron speakers, with at least 50cm change in\nheights.<\/div>\t\n  <\/div>\n
