It was founded in 1974 from the amalgamation of the Acoustics Group of the Institute of Physics and the British Acoustical Society. The institute has over 3000 members, ranging from engineers to scientists, educators and lawyers to architects and environmental health officers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The interests of members within the acoustics industry is\nwide, embracing such as aerodynamics, architectural acoustics, building\nacoustics, noise and vibration, engineering dynamics, underwater acoustics, along\nwith a variety of environment aspects. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Institute also works closely with other professional bodies in related fields such as the CIEH, REHIS, and IOSH and the Association of Noise Consultants<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By being one of the sponsoring organisations of the Institute\nof Acoustics, shows SITMA\u2019s commitment to the industry and supports the work\nthat the Institute does. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The SITMA are delighted to announce that we are now proud sponsors of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA).
