Description

This course is aimed at experienced heating installers who wish to expand their knowledge & skills to include fitting heat pumps in domestic and small commercial properties.  It will also enable you to meet the training entry requirements for the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).

Completion of the course will provide you with a Level 3 Certification, increasing your credibility and giving you the competitive edge, as well as showing your customers that you are trained to the highest of standards.

The course is 3 days long and includes training, assessment, the certification fee. The course material which is provided by GTEC is also included.

The Air Source Heat Pump Installation Course will enable operatives to specify, survey, design and install domestic or small commercial heat pump systems, enlisting manufacturers support where required. Systems up to 16kW for air source heat pumps are covered, plus the following areas:

  • – Background to market
  • – Heat pump regulations and guidance
  • – Principles of air source heat pump operation
  • – Heat pump types
  • – Matching to the correct heating system
  • – Pre-installation requirements
  • – Installation materials and methods
  • – Setting to work, commissioning
  • – Heat pump servicing and fault finding

Pre – Requisites

This course has the following pre-requisite:

  • WRAS Water Regulations

If you do not already hold the above qualification, or need to renew it, you must enrol on this course in addition to your Air Source Heat Pump course. You can book your WRAS Water Regulations here.

This way, you will leave GTEC fully qualified and able to install and maintain Air Source Heat Pumps and apply for MCS Certification.

You will also need to provide any Plumbing, Heating/Ventilation, Gas or Oil certificates you currently hold.

 

Air Source Heat Pump Installation

This course which is run by GTEC, is designed to provide a level 3 qualification and covers air to water heat pump technologies.

The course will provide detailed theory and practical knowledge enabling you to apply the relevant regulations and guidance when involved within the renewable industry.

Attendees must hold the WRAS Water Regulations qualification. If you do not then please contact GTEC for more information.
