The Building Performance Hub can now announce that entry into SITMA can be obtained via the Sound Insulation Testing Level 1 course. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sound Insulation Testing Level 1 course is for Dwellings only, and is run over 3 days, with the equivalent of 2 days being theory and 1 day of practical training using The Building Performance Hub’s state of the art sound insulation suite. The 3 days include time for the theory and practical examinations which must be passed to submit an application to SITMA to join their certification scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are no pre-requisites to joining the training course. However candidates must be aware that there is a physical requirement to lift equipment which may weigh up to 15kg per piece. There are also extremely high noise levels so it’s advisable to bring your own ear defenders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The course will go into how to conduct sound insulation testing in dwellings and for building regulations in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. It’ll also go into using standards BS EN ISO 140-4:1998 and BS EN ISO 717-1:2020 and BS EN ISO 717-2:2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Course is being run by The Building Performance Hub which is an Approved Training Partner of SITMA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Examinations are taken place on the day with a theory and practical element. Candidates are also encouraged to bring their own equipment, if they already own it, as training can be tailored to equipment already purchased. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
