LATEST NEWS AROUND THE GROUP

Study Shows Ground Floor Airtightness as Key to Energy Efficiency Gains in Older Homes
A study by the University of Salford found that improving ground floor airtightness is key to boosting energy efficiency in older UK homes. A whole-house retrofit approach outperformed piecemeal upgrades, reducing energy loss and improving indoor air quality.

Sub Floor Testing Requirements under Approved Document E
Approved Document E mandates that impact sound insulation tests be conducted on floors without soft coverings, except for specific floor types. Non-compliance can lead to test rejections by Building Control Bodies. It’s essential to follow these guidelines or obtain prior approval for any deviations.
