Description

In accordance with PUS007 – Equipment and Calibration Requirements, every 2 years SITMA Certified Members are required to check their equipment.

Across the year, SITMA works with The Building Performance Hub to offer all 4 services in a single day, including same day reporting and uploading to the SITMA Portal, ensuring SITMA Certified Members have an option to conduct these measurements. You will have a 90 minute slot to carry out these requirements.

Requirements Covered:

Speaker Directivity Testing:
Ensuring that speakers used in sound insulation testing accurately direct sound waves. This test verifies that your speakers conform to the specific standards required for precise and consistent sound insulation measurements.

Speaker Stability Testing:
Checks the consistency of your speakers’ sound output. This testing is crucial to maintain the integrity of your sound insulation testing, ensuring that results are reliable and reproducible over time.

Tapping Machine ‘One-Off’ Checks (in accordance with BS EN ISO 140-7:1998):
We conduct checks of your tapping machines as per the standards set in BS EN ISO 140-7:1998. This ensures that the impact sound insulation tests are conducted with equipment that meets the strict criteria for accuracy and performance.

Fees

The cost to conduct all 4 checks is £400+VAT and is limited to 4 spaces a day. BCTA will charge an additional £100+VAT for each additional tapping machine and speaker that is measured (this will be invoiced separately)

Notes
It is noted that SITMA Certified Members are under no obligation to use The Building Performance Hub to comply with the requirements of PUS007 – Equipment & Calibration. All testing above can be conducted externally and can also be done using other facilities.
The Building Performance Hub does not guarantee performance in any way, and will provide single page reports for each test as evidence, which is uploaded to the SITMA Portal on the same day as the measurements are taken, unless the person is not currently a SITMA member, in which case the single page PDFs will be supplied by email.
It is noted that cabinet loudspeakers will not normally meet the Speaker Directivity requirements and you are therefore advised not to bring cabinet loudspeakers.
A SITMA Examiner will be present at all times to ensure the measurements are being taken fairly and consistently, in line with its own accreditation requirements.
