ATTMA Applies for UKAS Accreditation to ISO 17024:2012

ATTMA has applied for UKAS Accreditation to ISO 17024:2012 – Bodies Operating Certification of Persons in order to 3rd party certify its processes, rules, regulations and the quality management of the multiple schemes it operates and also demonstrate its independence on a global scale . The outcome will see ATTMA having an additional level of oversight and will see ATTMA and its members being able to operate in more testing markets and economy’s.

David Pickavance, Chairman of ATTMA, describes the certification: “This is an exciting time both to work for ATTMA and to be part of the membership base. ATTMA is going through rapid change at the moment which is seeing us aim high, delivering new schemes for our members whilst investing heavily in positive changes to our existing schemes. ATTMA members operate to the highest standards and are checked more than any other trade in the construction industry without any hindrance to their working days”.

Barry also comments: “The end of this year sees the biggest changes in the air tightness & sound insulation testing markets since ATTMA introduced its successful lodgement system in 2015. ATTMA has consistently demonstrated its competence at running testers schemes but it has not forgot about the Trade Association beginnings. ATTMA will be involved in new research projects in 2019 which seek to further support the impending re-write of the Building Regulations”.
