World Ventil8 Day returns on 8th November, spotlighting the vital role of ventilation in creating healthier indoor environments. This years’ theme, “Collaborate to Ventilate”, encourages professionals to share their stories, innovations and partnerships that are driving improvements in indoor air quality across the globe.
At ATTMA and The Building Performance Hub, we’re proud to support this initiative for the third year running. Indoor air quality (IAQ) has been recognised as a public health priority, as poor IAQ has been linked to respiratory issues, fatigue, and mould growth. But the solution isn’t just about installing ventilation systems, it’s about ensuring they work as intended.
That’s where ATTMA’s ventilation commissioning scheme comes in. Ventilation commissioning is the process of verifying that a ventilation system is operating correctly to building regulations. It ensures that airflow rates are balanced, ensuring that pollutants are effectively removed and the system meets regulatory and performance standards.
Air Tightness also plays a part. The building envelope prevents unwanted air leakage, and a well-sealed building reduces energy loss and maintains consistent indoor conditions. However, it’s important this is run in parallel to ventilation strategies, ensuring that there is proper ventilation in the building.
Take Action for World Ventil8 Day
Join The Building Performance Hub and ATTMA to deepen your expertise and join us on our Domestic Ventilation Commissioning Course. You’ll learn how to identify different ventilation strategies, calculate the required flow rates for dwellings and individual rooms, and use a variety of different equipment, including powered flow hoods and vane anemometers.
It’s ideal for those looking to gain hands-on experience in commissioning domestic ventilation systems.
Once you have completed the course, any delegate who has already completed the course since its inception and joins us in 2025 will be able to apply for the ATTMA Domestic Ventilation Scheme for free.
World Ventil8 Day is here not to just raise awareness but to take action. ATTMA and The Building Performance Hub are here to help you do that!
