The Air Tightness Testing & Measurement Association Scheme, created in 2008, is owned and operated by The Building Compliance Testers Association (BCTA)
ATTMA operates a registered testers scheme providing 3rd party accreditation to testing companies, ensuring that all companies operate to the high standards the BCTA Group of Companies expects.
As a minimum, all ATTMA members must:
Have access to the current approved testing procedures, Current relevant building standards and regulations approved by the jurisdiction within which the member is operating.
Be insured with both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity, which meets their business requirements. ATTMA does not set the minimum insurance levels.
Own, lease, or borrow with a written agreement all equipment required for testing, which shall meet the minimum calibration requirements as defined in the approved testing procedures.
Apply and remain responsible for quality control of all aspects of their own work.
Must maintain records for all jobs for at least six years from the date of certifications of the building
The software that ATTMA has developed is incredibly powerful. It is mandatory for all members. The BCTA Group has experienced air tightness testers and fully employed employees who have been in the air testing industry for a number of years, including Lee Thompson who is employed solely to conduct audits all day, every day
