ATTMA writes to MHCLG, LABC & ACAI to clarify position on Self Testing

The ATTMA has today written to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), Local Authority Building Control (LABC) and the Association of Consultant Approved Inspectors (ACAI) today, following the increase of National Housebuilders amongst the alternative Competent Persons Scheme to ask them to clarify their position on housebuilders conducting their own Air Tightness, Sound Insulation and Ventilation tests.

ATTMA has become aware of both an increased number of air tightness, sound insulation and ventilation tests being carried out which puts our industry at a huge risk of being undermined.

The majority of ATTMA members are small business owners, some of the most vulnerable to change who could be put out of business if this trend continuous.

Once ATTMA has a response from MHCLG, LABC and ACAI we will publish to our members.
